Classroom Expectations
On the first day of school, our class talked about what sort of behavior we need to be effective learners in our classroom. Together, we came up with a set of rules and expectations to abide by. This is what they came up with:
In Third Grade...
·I will listen and follow directions.
·I will raise my hand to talk.
·I will obey zones.
·I will stay organized and turn in my work.
·I will be a team player with my words and actions.
Students will be expected to follow all classroom expectations and procedures in addition to the school rules provided in the handbook. We will also have classroom and individual incentives for students always following the expectations. These students will also be invited to attend the Superstar party at the end of the quarter!
Consequences:
·Signing the Book: The student will miss his/her entire afternoon recess and will lose one star toward earning their superstar party. They may also need to fill out a Think Sheet.
Other things to know:
·Lost/incomplete homework will automatically result in loss of afternoon recess and a star toward their superstar party. They may also be asked to fill out a Think Sheet. You will be asked to sign and return this to school.
·If the student loses 5 stars on their superstar cards (you can see these in their homework folders), they will not be allowed to join us at the Superstar Party.
·Affton School District supports the Zero Tolerance Policy, which means a threat or physical act against another person will result in an office referral.
